North Towers Support

North Towers helps you explore Canadian reported cell sites, antenna directions and frequency bands.

Contact mggyow@gmail.com for help, feedback or privacy requests. Include the app version, your iOS version and the steps that led to the problem. For a site-data question, include its coordinates and the field in question. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in screenshots or notes.

Report a bug, request a feature, or browse existing issues. GitHub Issues are public and require a GitHub account to post. For private enquiries or help without a GitHub account, use the email address above.

Getting started

Connect to the internet for the first database download. After preparation finishes, open Explore. Location and notification permission are optional. You can browse manually or search for an address, Cell ID or coordinates.

Database updates

Open Settings → Offline database to check for updates. Downloads need an internet connection. Installed site records can be searched without a connection; Apple Maps backgrounds, online place search and Look Around depend on online services and availability.

Favourites

Save a site with the bookmark button. Add tags and notes in Favourites. Optional iCloud sync uses your private iCloud database. You can also export and restore a favourites backup. Turning off sync does not delete the existing cloud copy.

Supporter purchases

North Towers is free to use, with all features included, no ads and no subscriptions. The optional Supporter purchase adds a decorative badge and a choice of five styles. To restore it, open Settings → Support us (or North Towers Supporter) → Restore Purchases using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Repeat contributions are consumable and are not restored. Neither purchase is a subscription.

Apple handles payment and refund requests. Purchase prices and availability are shown in the app.

Understanding the data

The app uses ISED's reported installation data. Records and antenna diagrams do not measure coverage, signal strength, speed or whether a network is currently operating. App corrections and band assignments are interpretations; inspect the source records when evaluating a site.
